Mary Margaret Anderson

Mary Margaret Anderson, age 83, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018.  Mary is survived by her husband of 65 years, Leonard William Anderson; her two children, Judy Hill (Dean) and Tod Anderson (Kelly); four grandchildren, Alec Hill (Iris Lee), Colin Hill, Noel Hill, and Gordon Anderson; and two sisters, Carol Hanson and Joan Markham.

Mary was preceded in death by her brothers, Roger Still and Lauren Still.

Mary was born on November 13, 1934 to Leland and Ethel Still in Galesburg, Illinois.  Mary grew up in Galesburg, and graduated from Galesburg High School in 1952.  Mary was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She worked many years as a legal secretary, culminating with work for the director of the Georgia Judicial Qualifications Review Commission.  Mary was also very active in local affairs such as the homeowner’s association. 

Mary enjoyed baking and sewing.  She was well known for her Christmas cookies and candy, which she mailed all over the U.S.  She was also an avid reader of books and newspapers.

A service is being planned in Galesburg, Illinois, tentatively for early November 2018.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boys Town (boystown.org), Toys for Tots, or the charity of your choice.”

Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming is in charge of arrangements.
