It is with immense sorrow that the family of Stephen MacGregor Norris announces his passing on September 4, 2018. Stephen - born April 11, 1995 in Cambridge, MA - was a beloved son, big brother, and friend. He leaves all who adored him with fond memories, and heavy hearts.
Stephen’s immediate family was always a focal point of his inner spirit and energy. He seldom shied away from admitting to be a “Mama’s Boy” of his mother, Mary. He adored his father, Jay - sharing with him kindness and tenacity. To his sisters, Carolan and Ali, he was a fierce protector and guiding mentor. He also cherished and adored the love of his life, Kimberly.
Stephen’s friends will surely remember the indelible impact he had on their lives. Whether it was his caring heart or his jolly demeanor, Stephen made friends in all walks of life. While he was a devoted, loyal friend to hundreds, he was also an approachable and kind stranger to countless others.
To those who didn’t know him, Stephen’s life is best remembered by his passions. He was a fishing savant, often spending day and night trolling for his next big catch. He was an avid car fanatic, who could be found in the garage tinkering with anything and everything he could. And his professional pursuits included a promising future at Grant Thornton, where he was to pursue his dream job - a career path befitting of a man with spreadsheets for almost every aspect of his life.
Stephen’s passing is equal parts tragic and heartbreaking. In recent years, Stephen bravely and openly battled his own personal darkness. His burden has now been lifted, as we turn to celebrating his life. He will never be forgotten, and our love for him lives on forever.
Stephen is survived by his parents, Mary & Jay Norris, his sisters, Carolan & Ali Norris, his aunt, Carolan Norris, his grandfather, John Stephen Norris, his aunt & uncle, Julie & John Quigley, his aunt & uncle Susan & Peter Worley, his cousins, Katie, Michael, Kelsey, Jimmy & Sam, his godmother, Cheryl Chip, and his longtime love, Kimberly Caito.
