Ronald Wells O’Neal

Ronald Wells O’Neal (Ron), age 71 of Cumming, Georgia passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018. Memorial service will be 2 P.M., Wednesday, September 5, 2018 in the Chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Kathie Stasko officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home Community Room. Ron was born in Atlanta, GA in the West End community. He attended J.C. Harris Grammar School, Brown High School, and Headland High School. Growing up he participated in the boy scouts. Summers he spent on his grandparent’s farm near Royston, Georgia. He attended Poly Tech after high school. Growing up he was a member of Calvary Methodist Church. Ron worked for Borden’s Dairy and managed Rudy’s bar and grill. He enjoyed traveling the United States as a long-haul trucker for CRST Trucking. Ron loved Christmas. He was known for his Christmas light displays each year. Waffle House was a part of his morning routine, where he read the comics and told corny jokes to everyone. Ron loved word-working, making many items for his grandchildren. He was an avid Braves fan. After Carol retired, they enjoyed camping in their 5^th wheel camper. Mr. O’Neal was preceded in death by his son, Craig O’Neal and his father, Ralph O’Neal. Ron is survived by his wife Carol Bryant O’Neal, of 19 years; Son and daughter-in-law Michael and Gina O’Neal, of Adairsville, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law Katharyn and Paul Rapalee, of Temple, Georgia; step-daughter Jenny Bryant, of Ball Ground, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law Ed and Terrie O’Neal, of Cleveland, Georgia; grandchildren Stephen and Nichole Rapalee and many beloved uncles, aunts, and cousins. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 1 – 2 PM in a stateroom of McDonald and Son Funeral Home, 150 Sawnee Drive, Cumming, Georgia 30040. 770-886-9899.
