Dawn Carolyn Oakley

Mrs. Dawn Carolyn Oakley, age 70, of Dahlonega passed away Monday, September 3, 2018.

Dawn was born in Valdosta on April 2, 1948 to the late Bob and Robbie Garner Weldy.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Horace Oakley and sister Gail Mackler. A selfless and loving mother and grandmother, Dawn was deeply loved by her family.  “Princess”, her boxer was the joy of her heart.  Dawn loved to read and play any word game she could.  She was affectionately called “Grandma” by her beloved grandchildren.

Survivors include her son and daughter in law Horace Harry and Tiffany Oakley; daughter and wife Ashley Nicole and Kimberly Oakley; daughter and son in law Lisa and Justin Blankenship; sisters Marie Weldy, Lannette Weldy, brother Bobby Weldy, sister and brother in law Beth and Tony Delattore; grandchildren Amber Faith Oakley, Leah Dawn Oakley, and Christopher Abel Oakley.

Dawn’s wishes were to be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
