Betty Jane Norton, a resident of Dacula, GA for 22 years and recently of Bethlehem, GA, passed away after a short-term illness and joined our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at the age of 83. Betty is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, William Mickle Norton, Sr., her beloved children Vanessa JoAnn Wallis, William Mickle Norton, Jr., John David Parsons, Jr. (Laurie Ann), and Devera Michelle Chandler (Henry Glenn); twelve grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren. Betty is predeceased by John David Parsons, Sr.; her parents Edgar Long and Vera Bennage; her brother, R. Lamar Long; and her daughter, Brenda Jane John. Betty was born in Jacksonville, FL on November 3, 1934. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville, FL and worked in the fields of accounting and tax preparation for over 40 years. On June 25, 1966, Betty married William Mickle Norton, Sr. Through the years, Betty enjoyed shopping, cooking for her family and friends, and family gatherings. Betty also loved finding ways to save her accounting and tax clients as much money as possible. Betty was a spiritual woman and relied on her faith through good times and bad.
