Michael Stefan Lambert was born August 6, 1949 in Atlanta, GA and passed away after a brief illness on August 24. A longtime resident of the northeast Georgia area, he enjoyed his status as a local legend who taught martial arts to a countless number of people over nearly 50 years. He loved books, music, film, travel and the great outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Buford Lambert and Lou Lambert of Murrayville. He is survived by his beloved children, Christopher Lambert of IN, Vanessa Fawley of Hoschton and Griffin Lambert of Gainesville; two daughters-in-law, Kerri Lambert and Christina Lambert and a son-in-law, Zack Fawley who he loved as though they were his own; his grandchildren, Jack, Natalie, Violet, Arlo and Lucy, who were all his favorites and his sisters Mary and Carol who were his lifelong best friends; 2 nieces, 4 great-nephews and 3 great-nieces.
He is also survived by an innumerable number of friends because Mike never met a stranger. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
Viewing will be from 6-8pm Friday Aug 31 at Strickland Funeral home in Clermont and graveside service will be held at 11 am on Saturday Sept 1 at Wahoo Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
