Kre Wehunt ran into the arms of Jesus and into the presence of her brother Klate on a beautiful Sunday morning, August 26, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. No one ever faced a trial with more grace and bravery than she. She left this world in the same way she lived each day, always concerned about others’ well-being more than her own. To know Kre was to love her. She had a special gift for making others feel special. No one ever felt left out in her presence. She had a sensitivity that included and nurtured each person who crossed her path.
She was a 2013 graduate of Lumpkin County High School where she was crowned Homecoming Queen her senior year. She was an active member of the theatre program, both on and offstage. She created a number of memorable roles onstage and always helped others with hair and make-up, as well as often running lights. During her teen years she also successfully participated in a number of beauty pageants obtaining the title of Miss NorthEast Georgia.
After graduation, Kre attended Brenau University for a year and then transferred to Lanier Technical College to study cosmetology – a long time passion and area of natural expertise.
In November of 2015 she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. She approached this news with a continued zeal to live life abundantly each day she drew breath. In hospitals in both Georgia and New York she spread her warm and shined a light in the darkness bringing hope and encouragement to those about her. She fought the good fight and never lost sight of her supreme purpose of spreading love to others.

Kre had many gifts, talents and passions, but her greatest passion was to bring glory her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She lived that passion out until her last breath on this earth and continues to glorify Him in her eternal home.
