Ellen Price Simpson

Mrs. Ellen Price Simpson, age 74, of Dahlonega passed away Friday, August 24, 2018.

Mrs. Simpson was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. She was born on April 7, 1944 to the late Dock and Gladys Smith Price.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands William Simpson and Hartwell Bryan; son and daughter-in-law Joe and Sonia Simpson; son Ted Price; twin sisters Fannie Marie and Annie Pearl Price; sisters Edna Grace Price Murray, and Elizabeth Ann Price Hare; sister-in-law Ida McClure Price; grandson Johnathan England; and great-great grandson Dwight “Pumpkin” England.

Mrs. Simpson was a homemaker and a member of the Dahlonega Church of God of Prophecy. She loved to take care of animals and crochet.  Mrs. Simpson will forever be remembered for her spunk.  She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law Buffy and Ernest Sullens, Cleveland; Helen and Jerry Fouts, and Lenora and Tony Jordan, both of Gainesville; brothers Charles William Price, Dawsonville, and Odes Daniel Price, Dahlonega; sister and brother-in-law Emma Ovellene and Gary Bruce, Dawsonville; brothers John David Price, Dahlonega, and Dock Eugene Price, Monroe; sisters Sallie Aquila Motes, Gainesville, and Pricilla Sue Ashmore, Dawsonville; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, August 27, 2018 in the chapel of Banister Funeral Home. Leah Cagle will officiate. Interment will follow in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
