Mr. James Chris Payne, age 62 of Prather Bridge Road, Toccoa passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
A son of the late Noah and Mary Etta Shelton Payne, he was born June 9, 1956 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life. He owned and operated Payne’s Hydraulic Jack Repair and was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by mothers-in-law, Geneva Brown and Merle Brown and two brothers-in-law, Robert Payne and Terry Smith.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Pamela Brown Payne; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kristen and T.J. Evans of Clarkesville and Marie Payne and Larry Turner of Toccoa; son and daughter-in-law, Nathan and Kayle Payne of Toccoa; sister, Wanda Payne of Toccoa; six grandchildren, Kelsie, Kaci, Kyndal, Kyler, Kameron, Kanton; father-in-law, Henry Brown of Toccoa; sisters-in-law, Sandra Carlan and husband Larry and Jeanette Smith both of Toccoa; a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 24, 2018. 2 O’clock p.m. at Sunnyside Baptist Church with The Reverend Dr. Jesse Colbert and The Reverend Dr. Roy Rogers officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, T.J. Evans, Nathan Payne, Larry Turner, Tony Carter, Caleb Carter and Dale Payne.
The family will be at the home on Prather Bridge Road and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in Carnes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Chris Payne.
