Dr. Charles Leonard Robertson, Jr

Dr. Charles Leonard Robertson, Jr. entered into this life on February 22, 1952 to the parents of Lois Camp Robertson (Lytle) and the late Charles Leonard Robertson, Sr. He departed this life on July 15, 2018.

He attended Fair Street Elementary School and graduated from Gainesville High School in 1970 with honors.  He immediately continued his education at Morehouse College where he pledged Phi Beta Sigma and graduated in 1974.  Thereafter, he attended Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee where he received a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree.  His next life quest was to join the United States Navy where he was a Naval Dentist and an officer.  After serving 20 years in the Navy, Charles retired and established a dental office in Brawley, California, where he practiced for several years before retiring.

Charles touched the lives of so many people with his contagious smile, extensive generosity, and magnetic sense of humor.  He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Virginia; mother, Lois Lytle; two sisters, Peggye Robertson Davenport and Barese “Doby” Lytle Watkins (L.O.); three brothers, Anthony “Miller” Robertson (Janice), Elderick “Dinky” Lytle (Janice), and Warrace A. Lytle (Xuemei); four aunts: Doris Thomas, Hazel Thompson Bailey, Joann Hester and Sarah Robertson. He also leaves numerous half sisters and brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins, step children, step grandchildren, and friends.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service to celebrate his life on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at 1pm at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 705 Summit Street SE, Gainesville, Georgia 30501. Professional Services Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
