Jack “Robert, Jr” McDaniel

Jack “Robert, Jr” McDaniel, age 83, of Buford, GA passed away Monday, August 20, 2018. He was preceded in death by father, Robert McDaniel; mother, Ruby Lynn McPherson; and brother, Jerry McDaniel. Mr. McDaniel is survived by his wife of sixty years, Martha Ann Loftis McDaniel, Buford; children, Robin Ann McDaniel, Suwanee, GA and Amy McDaniel Roberts, Buford, GA; granddaughter, Martha Olivia Roberts; great grandson, Bentley Keith Roberts; brothers, Wayne McDaniel, Buford, GA and Ray McDaniel, Huntsville, AL; sister, Mary Jeffreys, Athens, AL; sister-in-law, Polly Loftis Moore, Dawsonville, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. McDaniel was born on June 9, 1935 in Atlanta, GA. He was retired from Scientific Atlanta as manager of the paint department after twenty-five years of service.  He attended (and his family continues to attend) New Prospect United Methodist Church in Buford, GA. Mr. McDaniel enjoyed quail hunting, was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed boating on Lake Lanier. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and also a great father-figure to his many nieces and nephews. “He will be greatly missed by his family.”  The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Dunn officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 22 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
