James Ray Holbrook, age 70, of Cumming, GA, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018. James was born the fall of 1947, to the late Ancle and Betty Holbrook. He was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church in Cumming, GA. While attending New Harmony Baptist Church, James became a Sunday School Superintendant and was active in the church. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother and friend. He will be missed. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Amanda Rae Holbrook.
James is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Kay Bell Holbrook of Cumming, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and Robier Acebo of Buford, GA; granddaughter, Candice Kay Acebo of Buford, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Jean Holbrook of Canton, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Leisa and Anthony Chastain of Cumming, GA; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ann and Richard Fouts of Ball Ground, GA, Fay Jackson of Woodstock, GA, and Lottie Bell of Canton, GA; along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Holbrook will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA, with Rev. Johnny Purcell and Rev. Donnie Nix officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
