Carolyn Parker

Carolyn Parker, age 75, of Flowery Branch, GA passed away Saturday, August 18, 2018. She was preceded in death by parents, Ruth and Floyd Addington, and parents, Frank and Helen Parker; brothers, Wayne Addington and Darrell Addington; and sister, Debbie Parker Hodge. Ms. Parker is survived by sisters, Janet Addington Bowen, Cleveland, GA, and Priscilla Parker Riley, Connelly Springs, NC; brother, Frank Parker, Jr, Flowery Branch, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Carolyn Addington Parker was born in Springfield, OH in 1943. She graduated from North Gwinnett High School in 1961, and retired from Walmart in 2018 with sixteen years of service.  Ms. Parker was a member of Riverside Baptist Church in Buford, GA. She was a devoted aunt to many nieces and nephews, and they could con their Aunt Carolyn into anything. She was a die-hard Elvis Presley fan – at work she was referred to as “Mrs. Elvis.” Ms. Parker was an animal lover, having had many over the years, one of which was named Presley. Carolyn was the olders of seven, and yes, Priscilla, she admitted to being the oldest! She liked the description of being ‘stubborn, bull-headed and opinionated.’ Carolyn and Elvis have now left the building and they said, “Thank you, thank you very much.” The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Youngblood officiating.  The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until time for the service at 4:00 p.m.
