Clarence Jeral Stanley, 87, of Dahlonega, GA passed away peacefully on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Cumming Manor after an extended illness. He was born to the late Samuel and Roma Stanley. Clarence was a member of High Shoals Baptist Church. He was a Minister of the Gospel for more than 40 years at which times he pastored High Shoals, New Bethel, Pleasant Hill and Christian Hill Baptist Churches. Clarence was a United States Army Veteran who served during the Korean War and was an avid deer hunter.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Marjorie Bearden and son in law, Gary Hughes.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Edna Stanley of Dahlonega, GA. His Children: Barbara Hughes of Cumming, GA, Linda and Barry Hill of Cumming, GA, Gail and Paul Chapman of Charlotte, NC, Hope Merrill of Canton, GA; His Grandchildren: Farah Hughes (Jason) of Woodstock, GA, Patrick Hughes of Cumming, GA, Ginger Ivy of Denver, CO, Christopher Ivy (Kristen) of Sedalia, CO, Anna Chapman of Charlotte, NC, Katy Chapman of Charlotte, NC, Jym Chapman (Leigh) of Jasper, GA, Mary Chapman (Austin) of Gettysburg, PA, Sara Chapman of Charlotte, NC, Benjamin Cork, III of Marietta, GA, Zachary Cork of Marietta, GA; His Great Grandchildren: Alycia Hill of Birmingham, AL, Tessa Ivy of Sedalia, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends, Jack Biddy and Danny Evans officiating. Interment will follow the service at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Wednesday and Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
