Eddie Faye Reed, age 74, of Martin, GA, passed away from an extended illness on Thursday, August 9, 2018.

Born February 27, 1944 in Winder, GA, she was a daughter of the late Edwin Miles Reed and Vivian Lavaughn Doster Reed.

She is also preceded in death by brothers James H. Reed and Charles D. Reed, and the love of her life, Maurice Hughes.

Surviving family members include a daughter and son- in- law, Doreen Phillips and Scotty; three sons and a daughter-in-law, David Jones, Ronald Jones and Rex Jones and his wife Kellie; step-daughter Mariah Hughes Cottrell and husband Dusten; many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law Rita and Dilmous Allison; sister and brother-in-law Tammy and Amos Tippens; brother Danny Fowler; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Those who knew and loved Eddie Faye remember her as an extraordinarily kind and giving person who loved her family fiercely.  Even in times of great adversity, she always put the needs of others before her own.  She was a talented gardener and a wonderful Southern cook. She had a special knack for identifying hidden treasures among discarded "junk."  She loved to buck dance, listen to the music of John Prine, and make homemade muscadine wine.  Eddie Faye had a gift for finding humor in everyday situations and putting smiles on the faces of those around her.  Her sweet spirit will be missed by so many who loved her.
