Sybil Merel Byers

Sybil Merel Byers age 91 of Oakwood, Ga. died Saturday August 11, 2018 in Hall county Georgia.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday August 14, 2018 at the Little Davenport Chapel, the Rev. Charles Grant, Jr. and the Rev. A.B. Stewart will officiate, interment will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening at the funeral home from 5 to 8 pm.

Mrs. Byers was born in Oakwood, Ga. to the late Jay and Alma Grace Westmoreland White, she was the last remaining child of 10.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Byers; her siblings Damon White, Ellery White, Wilma White, Montine White Adams, Alma White Grant, Janice White Austin, Rilla Nell White Pruitt, Hazel White Williams and Robert White; as well as several brothers and sisters in law.  She worked as a nurse’s aide at DeKalb General Hospital for many years and was a member of Rehoboth Presbyterian Church and moved back to Oakwood, Ga. several years ago. 

Survivors include a special nephew, Tony Elliott and a sister in law, Evelyn White, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
