Lewis Franklin Underwood

Funeral services for Lewis Franklin Underwood, age 61 of Mt. Airy, will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Hillside Memorial Chapel.  Rev. Terry Benfield and Rev. John Umberhandt will officiate with interment to follow the service in Camp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Underwood passed away Friday, August 10, 2018.

Born in Habersham County on February 2, 1957, Mr. Underwood was the son of the late Luther and Kathleen Loudermilk Underwood.  Mr. Underwood worked with Fieldale Farms, Inc. and he was a member of Cornelia Congregational Holiness Church.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Underwood is preceded in death by son Robert Paul Edwin “Bobby” Underwood, and grandparents Arthur and Veattie Underwood and Paul and Winnie Loudermilk. 

Survivors include sister and brother in law Bonnie and Jerry Croy of Mt. Airy, nieces and their husbands Angela and Herbie Holland of Cleveland, Kimberly and Casey Collins of Mt. Airy and Melissa and Chris Brooks of Mt. Airy, as well as many great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews.

The family will receive friends at Hillside Memorial Chapel on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
