Mrs. Emma Montine Satterfield Clark, age 90, of Dahlonega passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2018.
Mrs. Clark was born in Lumpkin County on February 19, 1928 to the late Noah Washington and Lilly Mae Lance Satterfield. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert J. Clark, infant son Charles Clark, daughter Kathryn Weaver, son Terry Walker, granddaughters Nancy Mullis, and Maggie Patterson and several of her siblings.
Mrs. Clark was retired from Con-Agra. She was a caretaker for the elderly, many of which she stayed by their side until their passing. Affectionately called Granny by almost everyone in her family, Mrs. Clark will be remembered most for playing in the dirt with her grandbabies. She loved to plant her flowers and her garden. Cooking, sewing, and quilting were things at the top of Granny’s list. Mrs. Clark was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son Billy Walker; daughter Judy Thompson; son and daughter in law Ricky and Cynthia Clark; son Reggie Clark; daughter and son in law Cindy and Ricky Smith; daughter Martha Saunders; brothers and sisters in law Charles and Kay Satterfield and Marcus and Barbara Satterfield; sister and brother in law Brenda and Ken Putnam; 32 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, and 22 great great grandchildren with two more on the way.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, August 10, 2018 in the chapel of Banister Funeral Home. The Rev. Dwayne Smith, Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
