Sarah Elizabeth “Sally” Miller, 76, of Lula passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Timber Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Gregg Poole, Rev. Billy Poole and Rev. Chris Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Friday, August 3, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, August 4, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Born on June 14, 1942 in Gainesville, GA she was the daughter of the late Rev. Henry and Amanda “Mandy” Hawkins Poole. She was a homemaker and a member of Timber Ridge Baptist Church.
Sally was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her church and pastors and serving the church through visiting. She enjoyed cooking for her family and church. Sally was also known for her famous “chicken dressing” and “homemade biscuits”. Above all else, she loved her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Dixie Poole, Helen Hawkins, Nellie Hawkins, Edna McEntire; brothers, Boyd Poole and Ben Poole.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband of 58 years, Richard J. Miller of Lula; daughter, Susan Miller Black of Lula; sons and daughters in law, Joel R. and Cheri Miller of Lula, Scott and Danielle Miller of Maysville, Steven B. Miller of Lula; 10 grandchildren, Zac, Zane, Zeb, Jared, Jacob, Jonas, Anna, Kaitlin, Lauren, Sophie; 3 great grandchildren, Levi, Everett, Reese; brother, Claude E. Poole of Warner Robins; brother and sister in law, Rev. Billy and Marie B. Poole; devoted niece and friend, Donna Graham of Gainesville and a host of other relatives.
