Mrs. Viola Harrison Peppers, 85, of Lexington, SC, formerly of Gainesville passed away peacefully with her loving daughter by her side on Monday, July 30, 2018 following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 3, 2018 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Randy Roys will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Born on June 18, 1933 in Gainesville, GA., Viola was the daughter of the late Loy Cason and Ella Shubert Harrison. She graduated from Riverbend High School Class of 1950 and retired from AT&T after 30 years of service.
Viola will be remembered for her love of family, kindness and compassionate heart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Toney Peppers; brothers, Alvin, Loy Cason, and John Nathan Harrison; sisters, Vera Starns, Mary Dyer, Mildred Harrison, Ruth Puckett and Shirley Long.
Mrs. Peppers is survived by her only daughter, Jan Peppers Hawley and husband, Steve Hawley; grandchildren, Zack Hawley, Megan Freiburger (Ryan) of Lexington, SC; sisters, Barbara Polfuss, Betty Childs (Doug) all of Gainesville and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations in Viola Peppers name can be made to Glory Baptist Church, P.O. Box 908578, Gainesville, GA 30501.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Oak Haven Memory Care and All Seasons Hospice Services for their compassionate care and love shown to Viola.
