Franklin Jimmy Smith

Franklin Jimmy Smith, age 71, of Commerce, GA, formerly of Buford, GA, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018.  He was  preceded in death by parents, Levi and Lula Mae Smith; brothers, Johnny Smith and Noah Smith. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of fifty years, Ellen Jane Smith, Commerce, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Eva Jane and Tommy Harrison, Winder, GA, Yvonne Jiminez, Woodstock, GA, Kandy Smith and Gawain Bland, Oakwood, GA, Denise Smith and Dion Davis, Winder, GA; eleven grandchildren, Tommy Harrison, Jr, Zaria Harrison, Diavian, Asia, and Harrison Sherman Martin, Melinda Swanson, Marrissa Robertson, Mariah Jiminez, Amber Jiminez, Summer Bland, Deonna Davis; six great grandchildren; sisters, Mardell Hogan and Joan Smith, both of Flowery Branch, GA; aunts, Louise (John) Hutchins and Betty (Jesse) Satterfield, both of Buford, GA; numerous nieces, nephew and cousins. Mr. Smith was born on July 19, 1947, in Buford, GA.  He was a retired warehouse laborer from Gold Kist Company in Gainesville, GA after  twelve years of service.  Mr. Smith was a member of Peachtree Road Baptist Church, Suwannee, GA.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Jay Reed officiating. Interment will be at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford, GA. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31 at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be given to Flanigan Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses in memory of Franklin Smith.
