Nathaniel Montgomery

Nathaniel Montgomery, 71, of Gainesville passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at his residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at St. John Baptist Church with Pastor Stephen Samuels and Pastor Charles Dickey officiating. Interment will follow in Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Friday, August 3, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on January 24, 1947 in Griffin, GA he was the son of the late Joseph and Dessie Bell Morris Montgomery Ware. Mr. Montgomery was retired from Tractor Supply Co, where he worked in the warehouse. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and a member of St. John Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Montgomery is preceded in death by his brother, Andre Montgomery.

Mr. Montgomery is survived by his wife, Linda Montgomery of Gainesville; son, Nathaniel S. Montgomery of Gainesville; daughter, Kimberly Bell of Atlanta; granddaughters, Chante Montgomery, Damiya Montgomery; grandsons, Shaun Montgomery, Leshawn William; granddaughter, Khadijah White; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Betty Jo Morrison of Gainesville; sisters and brothers in law, Mary Louise  and Andre Young of Gainesville, Sandra and Victor Wheeler of Petersburg, VA, Jo Montgomery of Petersburg, VA; brothers and sisters in law, Ernest and Barbara Mason of Gainesville, Doug Mason of Atlanta, Michael Mason of Atlanta, Ken and Bethell Montgomery of Petersburg, VA, James and Evelyn Lipscomb of Monroe, GA and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
