Charles Nolan Walden, age 77 of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018.
Mr. Walden was born December 2, 1940 in Smyre Village, NC to the late W.S. “PeeWee” Walden and Clara Louise Walden. Nolan was retired from United States Navy with 27 years of service. During his service time Nolan served in the Gulf War Operations during Desert Storm and Desert Shield as a SeeBee. He was a member of the American Legion and a member of Faith Primitive Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Joan Walden.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Clint and Cindy Walden, Clarkesville; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Eddie O’Brien, Cleveland; grandchildren, Matthew Helms, Monroe, NC; Curtis Walden, Christy Walden, both of Clarkesville; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Larry Austin, Monroe, NC; sister, Freeda Kenley, Fort Mill, SC; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth “Ken” and Martha Walden, Monroe, NC; Ronald “Ronnie” and Fran Walden, Monroe, NC.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Faith Primitive Baptist Church, 371 Chopped Oak Church Rd. Toccoa, GA 30577. Elder Charles Chapman will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Saturday at Faith Primitive Baptist Church.
