William Howell Hudson

Obituary Date: Thursday, July 26, 2018

William Howell Hudson of Columbus, affectionately known as Bill, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2018 surrounded by loved ones.  Mr. Hudson, was the son of the late Benjamin Beeland Hudson, Jr., and Luella Howell Hudson, and brother to the late Charles Wade Hudson.

Bill graduated from Columbus High School and the University of Georgia.  While at UGA, he was a proud member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.

Mr. Hudson was a Medical Sales Representative in the Southeast Region for the majority if his early working life.  Then in 1989 he became the owner/operator of THE STORE/WATTA WERKS on Lake Harding.  Mr. Hudson was at his happiest watching his Dawgs win and "cadillacin" around the river with a tune in his ear.  He was a founding member of the Lake Harding Hoodlums, and longtime member of the Columbus Country Club.  There wasn't a person he met that wasn't affected by his smile and charm.

Mr. Hudson is survived by his daughter, Hayden Hudson Pharris; sons, Will Hudson (Mary Ann); Brentley Powell Hudson; brother, Benjamin Beeland Hudson, III; grandchildren, and great grandchildren, Heather, Whitney, Jake, Trey, Kyler, Alyssa, Taylor, Bryson, Jon, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to the staff and residents at the Oaks at Limestone in Gainesville for their loving care and support during his final years.  You meant as much to him as he did to you.  Also, the family would  like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards Pruitt Hospice for their amazing and heartfelt care in the end.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to The Guest House, 360 Oak Street, Suite A, Gainesville, Ga. 30501 or online at www.theguesthouse.org.
