Dorothy “Dot” Booth Mealor, age 87, passed away on the morning of July 24, 2018.
Born on October 17, 1930 to Robert L. and Fannie Jordan Booth in Ila, GA. She was a proud graduate of Athens Business College with a degree in Accounting.
She married D.L. Mealor on June 9, 1950. They were blessed with three children and a happy life.
Mrs. Mealor was a member of Cabin Creek Baptist Church. Many in the community remember her for her work at Automotive Parts and Supply in Downtown Commerce. She enjoyed a lifetime of hosting family gatherings. She is treasured for her unfailing support and concern for her extended family and was always a shining example of a lady.
She is survived by her husband, D.L. Mealor, of the residence; children, Jan (Warren) Fowler, Commerce, Cheryl Mealor, Bishop, Dennis (Darlene) Mealor, Jr., Bishop; grandchildren, Tripp (Andrea) Mealor, Jordan Shoemaker, Haley Mealor; great-grandchildren, Kason and Josie Mealor; sister, Mary Stewart, Winterville, brothers, Bobby Booth, Nicholson, Billy Booth, Nicholson; and many cherished nieces and nephews. She is also survived by loved ones Curtis Shoemaker and Belle Bookout.
Graveside services will be held 2:30 pm Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Poca, GA with the Rev. Stan Hauntsman officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday 1-2 pm at the funeral home.
