Ronald David Looney, 69, of Davidson, formerly of Kannapolis, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at CHC-Northeast Medical Center, Concord following a period of declining health.
Ronald was born July 13, 1949 in Stephens County, Ga. a son of the late Henry Thomas Looney and Anna Ruth McFarlin Looney. Ronald was employed by Fieldcrest-Cannon as a fixer at Plt. #1, #6 weave room with 38 years of service. He later was a
truck driver for Bowman Freight and later worked at Wal-Mart. He attended church regularly. Ronald was an avid fisherman and enjoyed attending dirt track races and watching
NASCAR. He loved horses and spending time with his friends and his family.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Whitley’s Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Ricky McFarlin, Rev. Eddie Griffin, and Rev. Jesse Looney. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will
receive friends at Whitley’s Funeral Home 12:00 Noon-2:00 P.M. Tuesday prior to the service. At other times they will be at the residence.
Family members left to cherish his memory are one daughter, Angela Griffin and husband Eddie of Kannapolis, two sons; Mark Looney and wife Deborah of Ocean Isle, NC and Rev. Jessie Looney and wife Lisa of Fairview, NC. Six grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.
