Kevin Stewart Guertin, age 55 of Cornelia, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018.
Born on February 9, 1963, in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, he was a son of Shirley Occhino Guertin Thomas of Ironton, Missouri and the late John Robert “Jack” Guertin, Sr. Mr. Guertin owned and operated Guertin Unlimited and was a member and former deacon of Demorest Baptist Church. He loved his family and enjoyed history, especially Native American culture, do-it-yourself projects, hotrod cars, road trips and just having fun in general.
In addition to his mother, survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Kayli Guertin-Smith and James Lewis of Cleveland; son and fiancée, Kenan Stewart Guertin and Andrea Elizabeth Carr of Suches; grandchildren, Ashlyn Rose Smith, Anden Kade Smith and Anniston Malachi Smith all of Cleveland; brothers and sisters-in-law, John R. Guertin, Jr. (Mary) of Ferrum, Virginia, Brian Guertin (Kathleen) of Vienna, Virginia, Mark Guertin (Rebecca) of Ironton, Missouri and Michael Guertin (Kim) of Roanoke, Virginia; sisters and brothers-in-law, Denise Bates (David) of Arcadia, Missouri, Debra Gordon (Joel) of Desloge, Missouri and Diane Sweeney of Arcadia, Missouri; mother of his children, Melissa Kim Guertin of Alto; stepmother, Patricia Guertin of Hardy, Virginia; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Demorest Baptist Church with Dr. Tom Mewborn officiating. All family is requested to meet at the church by 1:30 pm on Friday.
Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Demorest Baptist Church, P.O. Box 87, Demorest, Georgia 30535. All flowers should be delivered to the church by 1 pm on Friday.
