Tony Gallo, 61, of Dacula passed away Sunday July 15, 2018 at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Gallo was born August 9, 1956 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Rocco and Rose Gallo. He had been a resident of Dacula for 12 years having moved from Atlanta. For many years he worked alongside his wife at Eastern Airlines. A retired police captain, Tony was a 20 year veteran of the Dekalb County Police Department who had received numerous awards and decorations over his prestigious career. After retirement he enjoyed Lake Lanier and dedicated the rest of his life to his family and dogs.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Deborah Gallo, Dacula; son, Nicholas Gallo, Dacula; sister and brother in law, Anne and Fred Becking, Dawsonville; brother and sister in law, John and Debra Gallo, New Jersey; brother in law, Rick Griffeth, Atlanta; beloved K-9 companion, Cooper; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Memorial services will be held Saturday July 21, 2018 at 12 noon at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Father Brian Higgins will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
