Martha Ann Lathem Grant, 83, of Gainesville, passed away Friday July 13, 2018, she was born in Clermont, GA on November 15, 1934 to Carl and Ila Lathem. She began working at the Hosiery Mill at the age of 15. The following year, she graduated from Clermont High School. In 1952, she married Kenneth Lee Grant and moved to Gainesville. After starting a family, she left the Hosiery Mill, and she and her mother began working with Stanley Home Products through which she met many lifelong friends. In addition to working with Stanley Home Products, she also worked alongside her husband and father in law in their family dairy. She was a wonderful cook and an excellent seamstress.
She was predeceased by her husband and her parents.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Barron and Carolyn Grant, her daughter, Cathy Grant, and daughter and son in law, Angela and Todd Clark. Grandchildren, Lindsey and Wesley Erickson, Laura and Austin Holcombe, Logan Clark, Ellie Clark, and Landon Clark. Great grandchildren, Brooks and Adelynn Erickson. Sister in law, Betty Grant. Brother and sister in law, Lamar and Claudette Lathem. Niece and nephew, Kimberly and Steve Armour, and their daughters, Lathem and Reese. Special caregivers, Bobbie Coon and Lois Ivey, and a host of friends and family. She was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church. Following a long, courageous battle with multiple sclerosis, she went home to be with the Lord on July 13, 2018.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Cool Springs Baptist Church. Reverend Ricky Stone, Reverend Franklin Grant, and Reverend Phillip Gillespie will officiate. Interment will follow in the Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Monday from 3-5 and 6 – 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 11 -1 p.m.
