Gaither Creal Gibby

Mr. Gaither Creal Gibby, age 91 of Arlo Todd Road, Toccoa, GA, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018 at his residence.

Son of the late Gaither B. and Ethel Byrd Gibby, he was born June12, 1927 in Madisonville, Tennessee, having lived the rest of his life in Habersham County. He was a World War II Veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired truck driver delivering raw milk from the milk dairies to the processor. Gaither was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Geneva Westbrooks and Audrey Eller, and two brothers, James (Sonny) Gibby and Denny Gibby.

Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Betty Jo Mitchel Gibby of the home, four daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Larry Webb, of Toccoa, GA, Cheryl and Terry Payne of Martin, GA, Audia and Dennis Scott of Clarkesville, GA, Lisa and Justin Free of Toccoa, GA, two sons and daughters- in –law, Brenton and Aline Gibby of Galt, MO, Autry and Christy Gibby of Mt. Airy, GA, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Maxine Beavers of Evans, GA, Judy and Roger Cannon of Toccoa, GA, three brothers and sisters-in-law, Mitchell and Patsy Gibby of Carnesville, GA, Jerry and Gail Gibby of Toccoa, and Randall Gibby of Jesup, GA, 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 PM Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Chris Webb officiating. The V.F.W. Post 4346 and the Georgia National Guard in charge of military rites.

The following grandsons will serve as pallbearers, Brannon Addis, Steven Payne, Derek Payne, Dale Webb, Seth Webb and Justin Davis.

Interment will be in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements for Mr. Gaither Creal Gibby.
