Nancy Jane Burns Cunningham, age 81 of Ellenwood, GA formerly of Turnerville, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018.
Born in Habersham County on April 12, 1937, she was a daughter of the late William Edward and Lizzie Phillips Burns. Mrs. Cunningham retired from Mt. Vernon Mills. She enjoyed watching TV, fishing, sewing and solving word puzzles. Mrs. Cunningham was a member of Community Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur James “Junior” Cunningham; sons, William Grady and David Gene Cunningham; grandson, Grady Elvis Cunningham; brothers, Oscar, Leroy and Wilson Burns; sisters, Julie Armour and Eunice Shirley.
Surviving are sons and daughter-in-law, James D. Cunningham of Locust Grove and Billy Joe and Ronda Cunningham of Ellenwood, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Janie Sue and Ken Dubroc of Winder; stepdaughter, Mary Ann Holcomb of Rex, Georgia; brother, Nelson Burns of Alto; sisters, Frances Wade of Demorest, Minnie Lee Burns of Demorest and Vernie Johnson of Cornelia; 16 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm on Sunday, July 8, 2018 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Alvin Burns officiating. Interment will follow in Community Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
