James William Thomas

James William Thomas, 65, of Gainesville passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, July 2, 2018 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Captain Aaron Goldfarb and Captain Jamie Goldfarb officiating. Internment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, July 1, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on August 31, 1952 in Gainesville GA, he was the son of the late John Franklin Thomas and of Ruby Cleveland Murphy.

Mr. Thomas was formerly employed with The Tire Barn where he was a Tech, and he was a Veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Thomas was retired at the time of his death.

Mr. Thomas is preceded in death by his father, John Franklin Thomas and sister, Brenda Hodge.

Mr. Thomas is survived by his parents, Ruby and Robert Murphy of Flowery Branch; brother and sister in law, Wayne and Judy Thomas of Buford; sister, Diane Moore of Gainesville; sister, Janice Thomas of Flowery Branch and several nieces and nephews.
