Billy Rue Galloway, 78, of Oakwood, Ga, formerly of Milledgeville and Rabun Gap, Ga, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2018. He was the son of the late Horace and Inez Pate Galloway, of Milledgeville, Ga.
Billy was a US Army veteran, who served in Germany during the early 1960’s. More recently, he was retired from the FedEx Corporation. He was a member of Christ Place Church, formerly known as Blackshear Place Baptist Church, in Oakwood, Ga. Billy enjoyed traveling, camping, reading, and spending time with family and friends. He is especially remembered for his strong work ethic and his wonderful sense of humor.
Billy is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jeanne Finn Galloway, his son Michael Galloway (Marcela) and daughter, Angie Galloway, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, his brother Charles Galloway, and twin sister, Sue Galloway Rhodes and multiple nieces and nephews. He is also survived by lifelong best friends, W.B. NeSmith, Flavil Taylor, and Jack Jones.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 11 am at Memorial Park Funeral Home- North Riverside Chapel 989 Riverside Drive, Gainesville, Ga, 30501.
