Larry Gennel Ward

Larry Gennel Ward, 70, of Gainesville passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018 at his residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Reverend Eugene Whelchel officiating. Interment will follow in Rogers Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Born on November 22, 1947 in Gainesville, GA he was the son of the late Hoyt Ernest Ward and Margaret Inez Ward Savage. He retired from Fieldale Farms after 42 years where he was a manager. Mr. Ward was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Ward is preceded in death by his brother, Terry Ward.

Mr. Ward is survived by his wife, Vickie Rogers Ward; sons and daughters in law, Wayne and Leticia Ward, Shane and Wanda Ward; son, Kevin Ward; son and daughter in law, Kelly and Stephanie Samples Ward all of Gainesville; 8 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sister and brother in law, Judy Mae and James Smith of Monetta, SC; his beloved dog, Mere Ward and a number of other relatives.
