Mrs. Cecillia Cleland Dasher

Mrs. Cecilia Cleland Dasher (the former Cecilia Margaret Cleland), originally of Carlisle, England died Friday, June 15, 2018.  She was born in Matanzas, Cuba on September 4, 1922.

Mrs. Dasher and her parents, Matthew Cleland of Glascow, Scotland and Florence Pearson Cleland of Carlisle were émigrés to and became citizens of the United States post World War II.  The Clelands lived in Atlanta where Cecilia met her future husband of 62 years, Troy Marquis Dasher, Jr. who preceded her in death.  Cecilia is survived by their three children and spouses, Barbara and William Carter of Hoschton, Georgia, Michael and Beverly Dasher of Winter Park, Florida, and Peter Cleland Dasher of Athens, Georgia, granddaughter Katherine Cecilia Dasher of Winter Park, Florida, cousin Ralph Cleland Tiffin of Crieff, Scotland, her cousins still residing in the United Kingdom, and her best friend,  Sandi Grimsley of Buford, Georgia.

A memorial service will be held at Flanigan Funeral Home in Buford, Georgia with Visitation at 10:00 A.M. and Service at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 19.

The family requests donations in her memory to the Salvation Army or the Buford Presbyterian Church in lieu of flowers
