Clayton Sanford Stephens, age 83 of Homer, passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018.
Born in Mt. Airy, Georgia on May 28, 1935 to the late Benjamin Van Buren Stephens and Bernice Payne Stephens. Mr. Stephens retired from Schnadig Corporation with 30 years of service. He enjoyed farming, attending the cattle sale every Tuesday, visits to Wal-Mart in Commerce greeting family and friends, but most of all, spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Stephens was a member of Gillsville Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Reba Helen Caudell Stephens; brothers, Melvin Stephens and B.V. Stephens; sisters, Lillian Casey, Pearline Morris and Laverne Hurt; son-in-law, Jackie Fulbright.
Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Kerry & Shirley Stephens of Homer; daughters and son-in-law, Kay Fulbright of Carnesville, Karen & Tony Gragg of Homer; grandchildren and spouses, Michael & Cathy Fulbright, Casey & Danelle Stephens, Kayla & Blake Sanders, Trent & Elisa Gragg, Cody Fulbright; great grandchildren, Braxton Stephens, Judd Gragg, Austin Disharoon, Hunter Robinson, Trevan Gragg; brother, J.B. Stephens of Alto; sister, Martha Hicks of Winterville.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 am, Saturday, June 16, 2018 in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Terry Rice and Rev. Shannon Rhodes officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm on Friday and from 10-11 am prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
