Mr. Shufford Rogers, age 73, of Dahlonega passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018.
Mr. Rogers was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. He was known to his family and friends as “P-Nut”. He was born on August 1, 1944 to the late Shufford Rogers Sr. and Lizzie May Rogers. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Jennifer Rogers. Mr. Rogers enjoyed being outside working in the yard and tending his flowerbed. He also enjoyed fishing and camping. He loved his faithful companion chihuahua, “Booger”.
Survivors include his wife, of 39 years, Joanne Rogers; daughters and sons in law Wanda Gravitt and Jerry Moore, of Dahlonega; Ann and Andy Bennett, of Talking Rock; and Faye Rogers and Rocky Bennett, of Gainesville; grandchildren Ralph Rogers, Patty Gravitt, Rebecca Rogers, Ashley Bagby, Melinda Bagby, Lauren Terry and April Gravitt; brother Jackie Rogers and several other relatives.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 13, 2018 in the chapel of Banister Funeral Home. The Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday. Mr. Rogers wishes were to be cremated after the funeral.
