Mr. Melvin Elmer Payne age 80 of Williams Bridge Road, Toccoa passed away on Friday June 8, 2018 at Brown Rehabilitation of Royston.
A son of the late Hubert and Bessie Kesler Payne, he was born on April 24, 1938 in Franklin County, Georgia where he lived all of his life. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired as a Auto Body Repairman. He was a member of Tom’s Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Helen Howard Payne of the home, a son and daughter-in- law Doug and Sherrie Payne of Toccoa, grandson Stevie Payne, brother and sister-in-law Roddy and Ann Payne of Jacksonville, Florida, sister and brother-in-law Betty and Ed Powell of Eastanollee and a niece Cheryl Whitlock of Tiger, Georgia.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 23, 2018, 11 O’clock a.m. at Tom’s Creek Baptist Church with The Reverend Wayne Marcus officiating.
