Edna J. (Shorty) Cofer

Mrs. Edna J. (Shorty) Cofer, age 82, of Flowery Branch passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center – Gainesville, surrounded by her family.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2018 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at New Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.  Rev. Jeff Stewart and Rev. Denton Vaughn will officiate.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 8, 2018 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cofer was born October 20, 1935 to the late Pat Edward & Lula Viola Mayhue in Duluth, Georgia.  She was a member of Greater Love Baptist Church.

Mrs. Cofer is survived by her son, Anthony Cofer of Flowery Branch; daughter & son-in-law, Anita & Stephen Johnson of Hiawassee; son & special friend, Scott Cofer & Amanda Swafford of Flowery Branch; granddaughter, Crystal & Rafel Ortiz of Hiawasse; and grandson, Stephen & Abby Cochran of Flowery Branch.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lloyd Cofer; grandson, Christopher James Johnson; brother, Marlon Mayhue; and sisters, Essie Cain and Vera Garmon.
