William Keith Echols

Mr. William Keith Echols, age 69, of Gainesville, GA, passed away at Northeast Georgia Medical Center on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.

Born in Hall County on August 24, 1948, he was the son of the late Sarah Ruth Staten Echols and William Bascom Echols.  He received his education from Gainesville College and was the owner of Echols Bookkeeping and Tax Service at the time of his death. He retired in December 2012 as Hall County Tax Commissioner after having served three terms. He was a devoted member of Central Baptist Church and the Adult One Bible Class.

Mr. Echols is survived by his wife, Beth Lord Trawick-Echols of Gainesville, brother, Ken Echols of Cumming, sisters, Sarah Echols Jackson of Gainesville, Shelia Echols Ansley (Wayne) of Cornelia, stepsons, Matthew James Trawick (Jennifer) of Gainesville, Timothy Lord Trawick (Becca) of Mt. Airy, four step grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.     

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Belton Baptist Church Cemetery.  Reverend Boone Strickland and Reverend Terry Rice will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm at the funeral home.  The family will also receive friends on Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 1 – 2 pm, prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Flowers are accepted or donations can be made to the Adult One Sunday School Class, Central Baptist Church, P. O. Box 444, Gainesville, GA  30503-0444.
