William “Bill” Franklin Davis, age 86, of Cumming, GA, was born October 4,1931 and passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a resident of Forsyth Co. He served in the Air Force from 1949 to 1969. Bill was a Doraville Policeman for 24 years and the last 5 years served as the Chief of Police. He was a great role model for his officers and was instrumental in changing lives.
Bill was survived by his wife of 7 years, Nell Davis; son and daughter in law, Franklin and Connie Davis; grandchildren, Jason Davis, Alex Davis, and Wesley Davis; 2 great grandchildren; step children, Vickie and Dave Tiura, Judy and Terry Hanson, and Janet Duhon; 8 step grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Wallis, Elease Abercumbie, Thelma Hooks; sister in law, Dorothy Cantrell and other loving family, friends and his dog “Boss”.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Gardie and Maurina Robinson Davis; his first wife, Elsie Dodd Davis; and 9 other siblings.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Crossroads Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Hearn officiating.
