Kevin Gallagher, 71, of Flowery Branch, Georgia, passed peacefully in his home on May 16, 2018.
He was born on May 4, 1947 to the late Francis and Dorothy Gallagher in Toledo, OH, as the youngest of six siblings (Tony, Sis, Charlie, Mike, and the late Terry Gallagher). He is survived by his adoring wife of over 45 years, Juliann (Julie) Gallagher; his 3 loving children, Francie, Ryan, and John (Jack) Gallagher, and his 5 energetic grandchildren, Rory, Edward (Ward), Evelyn (Evie), Sloane, and Henry (Hank), who affectionately referred to him as “Pops”. Kevin was a devoted husband, a loyal friend to many, and above all a dedicated father and grandfather. His larger-than-life personality and magnanimous spirit brought him great success in friendship and in business, most notably as CEO of Amrep, Inc (Marietta, GA) for over 14 years, where he retired. Kevin loved playing golf as a snowbird down in Naples, FL, and was an avid boater with his group of friends at the University Yacht Club at Lake Lanier. Kevin’s famous catch phrase of “Are we having fun yet?” is a testament to his approach on life, with his greatest attributes being his endless generosity and his tireless sense of humor. His immense presence in this life will be missed by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held at the Memorial Park South Funeral Home at 4121 Falcon Parkway in Flowery Branch on May 18 from 6-8 PM. The celebration of Kevin’s life will be held on Saturday, May 19th at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Flowery Branch at 11:30 AM.
