In 1975, he opened the famous Maple Street Mansion with the best pizza around. He moved to Helen that same year and opened the Wurst Haus which was the first restaurant in Bavarian Helen. He successfully operated the Wurst Haus until it burned in 2006.
Sid married Sherry Drummond Shortt on November 20, 1991, and she was the love of his life. They traveled the world together and spent 27 glorious years with each other. Sid was a loyal and passionate fan of The Rolling Stones, a rare coin collector and an avid protector of the environment. He was happiest at his home in the woods with his many birdfeeders.
