David Scott Mooney

David Scott Mooney, 47, of Gainesville passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from a sudden illness. David was a wonderful and loving husband and Dad.  He was very giving and protective of his family.  David was a member of Roanoke Baptist Church and loved his church family.

Survivors include the one true love of his life, his wife of 25 years, Sharon Connolly Mooney of Gainesville; a son, Jonathan Scott Mooney of Gainesville; a daughter, Erin Ann Mooney and her boyfriend, T.J. Sutton of Oakwood; his dog, Buddy; a sister, Lisa Dunford of Cumming; mother-in-law, Maureen Connolly of Oakwood; and nieces and nephews, Justice Lay, Jessica Bower, Alexis Lay, Jason Dunford, Chris Dunford, Jared Dunford and Ryan Dunford.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 19, at 11:00 a.m. at Roanoke Baptist Church with Rev. Clark Watson and Rev. Ruel Martin officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday and Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
