William Nation, age 65 of Homer, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2018.
Born in Jackson County, Georgia on May 15, 1953, he was a son of Mary Frances Garrett Nation of Homer and the late Robert Lee Nation. He previously worked in the maintenance department for the City of Homer. Mr. Nation enjoyed flowers, fishing, and being outdoors. He attended Alto Congregational Holiness Church.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lee Dorsey Nation.
In addition to his mother, surviving are his wife, Janie Redd Nation of Homer; sons and daughters-in-law, Buck & Kendra Nation of Gainesville, Johnny & Lisa Nation of Homer, Chris Nation of Homer; daughter and son-in-law, Liz & Orlando Gonzalez of Danielsville; step children, James Gable of Cleveland and Amber Smith of Homer; grandchildren, Dillion Nation, Coltyn Sosebee, Katie Sosebee, Tink Nation, Laura Quarles, Brian East; great grandchildren, Jake Ramey and Zoey Ramey; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou & Mitchell Dill of Alto.
Memorial services are scheduled for 2 pm, Thursday, May 17, 2018 in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Rev. Scott Ledbetter officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12 pm until the funeral hour Thursday at the funeral home.
