Jimmy C. Reed, age 73, of Buford, GA passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Amelia Missler; parents, Clyde and Loyce Davis Reed; brothers, Wesley Reed and Tim Reed; and sister, Kay Reed. He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Sara Lee Burdett Reed, Buford, GA; children, Shane Reed and Asep Mawardi, Atlanta, GA, Todd and Kim Reed, Commerce, GA and Brandy Russell, Maysville, GA; grandchildren, Harley Wicks, Buford, GA, Taylor Reed, McDonough, GA, Madison Wicks, Buford, GA and Autumn Russell, Buford, GA; sisters, Sue Reed Farr, Buford, GA, Sandra Reed Thompson, Dacula, GA and Sheila Reed Maddox, Auburn, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Debra Pierce Reed, Suwanee, GA and Lonnie and Rita Cleghorn Reed, Jefferson, GA; sister-in-law, Mary Burdett Haney, Buford, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Reed was born March 30, 1945 in Buford, GA. He was a 1965 graduate of North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, GA. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in Vietnam. He was retired from General Motors Assembly Plant after twenty-nine years of service and was a member of the U. A. W. Local 10. Mr. Reed was a member of the Buford American Legion Post 127 and a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Buford, GA. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Newbern officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Buford, GA with military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
