Clara Nell Smith

Mrs. Clara Nell Smith, age 77, of Dahlonega passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018.

Mrs. Smith was born in Hall County on September 7, 1940 to the late Charlie and Carrie Hopper McDonald. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Odell Smith; sisters Henrieta Grizzle and Grace McDonald; brothers James McDonald, Junior McDonald, Dennis McDonald, and Roy McDonald.  Mrs. Smith retired from Fieldale as a lab tech.  She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include sons and daughters in law Ricky and Renee Smith, Dahlonega, and Roger and Judy Smith, Dahlonega; grandchildren Mathew and Brooke Smith, Dustyn Smith and Nicole Rhodes, Mathew and Jessica Ballew, and Ryan Smith and Melissa Hunter; great grandchildren Micah Smith, Maddox Smith, Leona Ballew, and Maci Ballew; sister Florene Brown, Gainesville; sisters and brothers in law Frances and Herman Sullens, Gainesville, and Dianne and Jimmy Grizzle, Gainesville; sister Charlotte Hewell, Commerce; sisters in law Bertha McDonald, Gainesville, and Zora McDonald, Dahlonega.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 15, 2018 in the chapel of Banister Funeral Home. The Rev. Ken Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.  Mrs. Smith’s wishes were to be cremated after her funeral service.
