Jerry Aaron Simmons

Mr. Jerry Aaron Simmons age 80 of 200 North Currahee Lane, Toccoa passed away Thursday May 10, 2018 at his residence.

A son of the late W.A. “Gus” and Mildred Singleton Simmons, he was born on April 20, 1938 in Stephens County where he lived all of his life. He retired from Duke Power with 30 years of service, a member of the Masonic Lodge 309 and enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. He loved his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Jimmy Simmons and a sister Jane Robinson.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy Moss Simmons of the home, two daughters and son-in-law, Sherry Craig of Sugar Hill, Lorrie and Larry Gregory of Toccoa, two sons and daughters-in-law Buck and Shelli Simmons of Toccoa and Jeff and Chris Simmons of Flowery Branch, seven grandchildren Christy Lee, CaDee Lee, Ashley Gregory, Corey Payne, Emilee Kellar, Avery Beth Simmons and Will Simmons and ten great-grandchild, two sisters and brothers-in-law Joan and Steve Bailey of Alto and Yvonne and Doug Thacker of Toccoa.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday from noon til 2;45 P.M.

A private cryptside service will be held Saturday at 3:00 P.M. with Mr. Larry Stephens officiating.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers Chandler Payne, Hunter Payne, Will Simmons, Corey Payne, Dustin Thacker and Todd Bramlett.
