Lenore Meaders Chambers of Clermont died Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Lenore was married for 59 years to her loving husband, Howard Chambers, who died in 2007. She was the daughter of the late Wiley Christopher Meaders and the late Ruth Kincaid Meaders of Cleveland. Lenore was a retired school teacher who began teaching at age 18 and taught first grade at Clermont Elementary School and later at Wauka Mountain Elementary School for 43 years. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church.
Lenore is survived by godchildren Emory and Judy Jones, Cleveland, Alice and Ron Cholaj, Flowery Branch, Freda and Jeff McAvoy, Cleveland, and Kelvin Morgan, Bangkok, Thailand, and sister, Barbara Allison, Sister-in-law, Doris Chambers and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at Strickland Funeral Home in Clermont. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 11, in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. James Dollar and Kevin Woody will officiate. Interment will be in Concord Baptist Church cemetery.
