Reba Ellen McKie Segars

Mrs. Reba Ellen McKie Segars age 87 of Yarbrough Ridgeway Road, Maysville passed away on Friday May 4, 2018 at her daughter’s home.

A daughter of the late Robert and Cynthia McDuffie McKie, born in Franklin County, Georgia having lived most of her life in Madison County and later years in Stephens County. A member of New Hope Baptist Church and attended the New Hope Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband Melbourne Segars in 2000, son David Segars, two brothers J.R. McKie and Howard McKie, sister Mamie Baxter and a son-in-law Larry Hembree.

Survivors include a daughter Inez Hembree of Maysville, Georgia, three sons Troy and Linda Segars of Homer, Georgia, Wayne and Melissa Segars of Lincolnton, Georgia and Kenneth and Terri Segars of Dainelsville, Georgia, seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, a number of great-great grandchildren and several other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 P.M. at New Hope Baptist Church with the Reverend David Sosebee and Reverend Kenneth Segars officiating. The family will at the daughter’s home 2011 Yarbrough Ridgeway Road, Maysville, Georgia and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday from 6 P.M. til 8 P.M.

The body will lie in state at the church from 1:30 P.M. til service time.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers Wade Segars, Stephen Segars, Hayden Segars, Payton Segars, Jonathan Segars and Bryson Segars.

Honorary pallbearers include James Kirk, Tommy Mackey and the New Hope Sunday School Class.

Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
